Description
:
Up for auction are 4 vintage jigsaw puzzles depicting elves mining.
The four puzzles were sold as a set by SIFO Toys in the 1950s.
The first puzzle depicts elves mining for gold and riding a boat down with the ore.
The second puzzle depicts elves finding jewels in a far off desert.
The third puzzle depicts elves making a jack-o-lantern with jewels for Halloween.
The fourth puzzle depicts elves in Asia placing jewels into a jade statue (perhaps Buddha).
The artwork is by Bill Layne who worked as a Disney background artist and even became the background director for a time.
He also had a prolific solo career doing a number of calendars and puzzles.
Bill Layne is most known for his images of elves and pin-up girls.

Each issue is approximately
10 1/4 inches high x 6 3/4 inches wide.
Condition
:
These puzzles were used by 2-3 generations of our family.
They show wear, especially in the corners and edges of the trays, but are completely functional jigsaw puzzles with all pieces present.

For those with allergies, our home is smoke free and perfume free.  However, there are dogs & cats at my current residence.
Please wipe down the puzzles to remove any trace amounts of fur and dust before using.
